Since May 25, 2018, new legislation on the protection of personal data has come into force.
Personal data protection legislation
- EU Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data (the “ GDPR ”)
- Law No. 7817 of January 6, 1978 relating to information technology, files and freedoms, amended by Law No. 2018-493 of June 20, 2018 relating to the protection of personal data (the “ Information Technology and Freedoms Law ”)
